Another big show is taking place in Phattalung on Saturday night with three of the stars of the Sing Patong / Sit Numnoi camp in Phuket in action.
Peneak Sitnumnoi comes from Phattalung and is a massive draw there with up to 10,000 fans turning out to see him fight. He will be rematching Saketdao Petphayathai who he lost a narrow decision to in his hometown last month.
On that occasion Peneak (pictured) looked good in the opening rounds but could not cope with the much taller Saketdao’s clinch tactics in the crucial third and fourth rounds.
There was a lot of money riding on Peneak that night and it will be interesting to see whether Saketdao is required to give up a few more pounds this time around just to even up the odds.
All three of Sing Patong’s Lumpinee champions will be in action with Penthai going up against Jomhod Eminent Air Gym, himself a former Lumpinee champion who has not been fighting too regularly recently.
Damien Alamos is taking on Thai veteran Noppakrit Kor Kompanart who is ranked in the top ten at 135 lbs at Lumpinee but will probably be moving up in weight to take on the Frenchman, who is the reigning lightweight champion.
